Racing in their new French Tri Club colours (Team Charente Triathletes) both Oliver and Oscar put in performances that made their mum and dad proud. Oscar lead from the start to win his 1km race around the town of Jarnac, and Oliver came in a very impressive 6th place in his 2km race.

Stuart Andersen in another cool, calculated and consistent Ironman Wisconsin, has booked his slot for Hawaii 2010 – more than a year out from the event.
Stuart again produced his best Ironman result to date to finish 18th Overall and 2nd in his age group.
Stuart could have qualified for Hawaii this year after his race in Ironman Lanzarote but instead decided to take a year out from going to Hawaii and then making the experience even more special in 2010.
He is the 1st of a number of TriLiving athletes trying to qualify for Hawaii 2010 – so lets see who will be next!
Good Job

Finish of bike at Cognac Team Triathlon Champs
Apart from it been wonderful weather all summer at our place in France www.livingfrance.org (I do like to rub that in). It has also been quite a action packed and successful summer with some events that I have done. I will admit that everything i have done has been pretty low key, but the main thing is that it has been great fun and I have had a chance to race with some great people.
Above I am racing for Team Charentes Triathlon club (Cognac) - In the regional championships for Team Time Trial Triathlon where we finished 2nd. The Swim and bike were relatively straight forward as I was one of the stronger athletes but the run was a different story!! with 3 athletes to count and one of our 4 man team beating me to drop off the pace it meant I destined to a very painful and hand assisted 5km run. One the plus side my wife found it quite amusing!

Finsh of run - only pushed for 4km!
The day before the triathlon I did the regional bike TT championships for the bike club I ride with “Team cyclist Angerien“where I secured a win in my age category (40 to 49) but missed out on the overall win by 13 sec – bit bumed about this but just was not a good course for me.

Departmental TT Champs
So in all I ended up as:
- Charente maritime Champion in both TT and on the road,
- Poitou Charentes champion for my age in TT
- 2nd in Poitou Charantee region for team triathlon
- 5th in Poitou Charantes for middle dist triathlon
- and a few other bits and pieces! See below

I maybe in yellow but not quite the flower girls of the tour de France!

Another nice shirt!
So what for 2010!! Big plans – see you

It has been a very active year so far with Triliving athletes out and about competing in places all over the World.
Some very notible results which I feel need a mention.
Lanzarote Ironman May 09

Stuart Andersen GBR
Time 9.53.47 -Place overall 42 – Place in AG 8
To follow Stuarts news and updates see his blog: Diary of an Ironman

David Gautier FRA
Time 11.06.04 – Place Overall 216 – Place in AG 59
This was David’s 1st Ironman and even with a mechanical problem that prevented him from using the big chain ring (not good when its down hill with a tail wind) he battled on for a great race.

The University of Bath has for many years lead the way for performance sport. It was the first triathlon high performance centre in the Uk and is the home to Team Bath and to Sport Science and Physiological Testing.
It is also where I spent 8 very happy years when I was head coach based there.
