I have been involved with the sport of Triathlon for over 30 years. I spent 10 years as a professional athlete winning 5 national titles and a world championships team gold. I then coached full time for 10 years working as a performance coach with the GB elite athletes and finishing off by been responsible for 2 out of the 3 girls racing at Athens Olympics (Julie Dibens and Jodie Swallow). For the past 10 years we have lived and work in France were we have set up and built up a small French holiday complex that we run training camps from but mainly welcome families on holiday – LivingFrance. I still coach but mainly age group athletes who are trying to get the best out of their training while maintaining a healthy life balance. I also run a number of training camps throughout the year which cater for all standards and all ages of athletes. I continue to compete as an age group athlete and again this year (2015) I returned to Kona for another go at the big race on the big Island. A big motivation to me now is just seen athletes achieve there goals and also to see my kids develop in the sport.
Triathlon and sport have hugely enhanced my life, opening many doors and offering many life experiences. It has strengthened my values and enriched my life. These values revolve around always staying positive and optimistic and enjoying life today.
